OUR CLUB TODAY

Today, Deep South Archery Club offers a mixture of social, recreational and competitive archery, with something for those who simply want to enjoy shooting as well as those who want to compete.

We shoot indoors during the winter season at the Southland Hockey Association Hall and outdoors during summer at MakarewaDomain.

Our members shoot a wide range of equipment and styles, including recurve, compound and traditional bows, as well as crossbows. We also welcome bowhunters who want somewhere to practise, improve their skills and enjoy shooting alongside other archers.

Coaching and club equipment are available, and throughout the year we run club shoots, novelty events, competitions and larger tournaments, including our Mad Moa event.

You don't have to be a competitive archer to be part of Deep South. Some of our members compete seriously, some shoot socially, and plenty fall somewhere in between.

Whatever your reason for picking up a bow, there's a place for you at Deep South.
